  * Traumatic Brain Injury                    * Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD)
  * Paralytic Equinus (Drop Foot)       * Ankle Arthritis or Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD)
  * Talocalcaneal Varus or Valgus      * Ankle, Subtalar or Midtarsal Trauma
  * Prophylactic Ankle Instability

Bracemasters International, LLC is pleased to report the broad range of conditions that have been successfully treated with the DRAFO® family of products.  We have completed a comprehensive review of the patient conditions and profile that have achieved the best results with each specific DRAFO® product.  This information has been outlined below to help our practitioners select the DRAFO® product that will produce the best outcome for your patient.  The following are the general assessment details that have had the best results by product:

DRAFO® (High-Profile)

  • Significant Dorsiflexion and Plantar Flexion Instability
(DRAFO HP provides direct support to the knee)

  • Moderate to Extreme Talus Instability
(DRAFO HP provides direct support to the Midtarsal, Subtalar and Talocrural joints)

  • Need to adjust forefoot-hind foot alignment to optimize gait
(DRAFO HP with ability to manipulate alignments and/or angles to maximize results)

  • When there are knee control issues
(DRAFO HP provides maximum lever arm like solid ankle AFO)

  • No concern with knee hyperextension
(DRAFO HP soft heel design decelerates Tibia to optimize second rocker)

DRAFO® (Mid-Profile Articulated)

  • Moderate Dorsiflexion and Plantar Flexion Instability
(DRAFO MP provides indirect support to the knee)

  • Moderate to Extreme Talus Instability
(DRAFO MP direct support to the Midtarsal, Subtalar and Talocrural joints)

  • Need to adjust forefoot-hind foot alignment to optimize gait
(DRAFO MP with ability to manipulate alignment to maximize results)

  • No concern with knee hyperextension
(DRAFO MP soft heel design decelerates Tibia to optimize second rocker)

DRAFO® (Low-Profile)

  • No Dorsiflexion or Plantar Flexion Instability
(DRAFO LP provides free or slightly limited dorsiflexion and plantar flexion)

  • Moderate Talus Instability
(DRAFO LP provides direct support to the Midtarsal and Subtalar joints)

  • Need to adjust forefoot-hind foot alignment to optimize gait
(DRAFO LP with ability to manipulate alignment to maximize results)

  • No concern with knee hyperextension
(DRAFO LP soft heel design decelerates Tibia to optimize second rocker)

DRAFO® PLS

  • There is Free Range of Motion (5º or more Dorsiflexion)
(DRAFO PLS provides minimal support to the knee)

  • Need to adjust forefoot-hind foot alignment to optimize gait
(DRAFO PLS with ability to manipulate alignment to maximize results)

  • No concern with knee hyperextension
(DRAFO PLS soft heel design decelerates Tibia to optimize second rocker)

DRAFO® Articulated

  • There is Free Range of Motion
(DRAFO ART provides direct support to the knee)

  • Need more Plantar Flexion Control
(DRAFO ART provides direct support to the Midtarsal, Subtalar and Talocrural joints
    if Gastrocnemius tightness not present)

  • Benefit from adjusting forefoot-hind foot alignment to optimize gait
(DRAFO ART with ability to manipulate alignment to maximize results)

DRAFO® Static Adjustable

  • Need to work with limited range of motion that will increase over time
(DRAFO SA provides ability to reset fixed dorsiflexion/ plantar flexion angle)

  • Benefit from adjusting forefoot-hind foot alignment to optimize gait
(DRAFO SA with ability to manipulate alignment to maximize results)

DRAFO® Lite

  • Need to protect against knee hyperextension
(DRAFO Lite solid heel induces forward directed vector controlling hyperextension)

  • Need for maximum stability while standing
(DRAFO Lite simplified traditional design eliminates sach heel effect)

  • Benefit from adjusting forefoot-hind foot alignment to optimize gait
